300ccce46c Another merge with master. 
Change Doxygen error codes to start at 740 instead of at 720 as the latter was
taken by Scilab in the meanwhile.

Resolve conflicts in autodoc_runme.py once again.

be4065531e Add suggestion to check block delimiter 
The fix for #217 means that blocks of target code delimited by { } with
'#' comments in now give errors (previously these lines were quietly
discarded).

The fix is generally to use %{ %} delimiters instead, so suggest this
might be the issue in the error message to help users hitting this issue
with wrappers which were apparently working before.

ce90ff6a77 When reporting an error for a construct which hasn't been terminated 
when the end of the file is reached, report it at the start line rather
than "EOF" as then tools like editors and IDEs will take you to a
generally more useful place for fixing the problem.

04715f74e2 Improve error message when an unknown SWIG directive is used 
This previously gave the cryptic "Error: Syntax error in input(1).", but
now gives "Error: Unknown directive '%foo'."

a1d7930835 Give warnings for unknown Doxygen commands in Doxygen parser. 
Silently ignoring unknown Doxygen commands is not a reasonable default
behaviour, it's simple enough to turn off the warning if the command is really
supposed to be just ignored, but it's too easy to not notice a real problem if
it isn't.

Turn WARN_DOXYGEN_UNKNOWN_COMMAND on by default and add a test to the errors
test suite checking that it is indeed given.

2b5499a262 Slight simplification of test-suite build for new out-of-source changes 
Provide default SRCDIR and SCRIPTDIR variables in common.mk and override
only where needed.

f574a34155 Allow examples and test-suite to be built out of source tree 
- Examples/Makefile.in rules use SRCDIR as the relative source directory

- ./config.status replicates Examples/ source directory tree in build
  directory, and copies each Makefile to build directory, prefixed with
  a header which sets SRCDIR to source directory

- Examples/test-suite/.../Makefile.in set SRCDIR from Autoconf-set srcdir

- Examples/test-suite/errors/Makefile.in needs to filter out source
  directory from SWIG error messages

- Lua: embedded interpreters are passed location of run-time test

- Python: copy run-time scripts to build directory because of 2to3
  conversion; import_packages example copies __init__.py from source
  directory; test-suite sets SCRIPTDIR to location of run-time tests

- Javascript: binding.gyp renamed to binding.gyp.in so that $srcdir
  can be substituted with SRCDIR; removed './' from require() statements
  so that NODE_PATH can be used to point Node.js to build directory

d5b765d388 Whitespace cleanup of all Makefiles* 
- some of the %.clean rules in the test-suite Makefiles were using a single tab
  as an empty rule, dangerous! I've replaced these with the safer '@exit 0'.

60501fe077 Errors tests more visibly show failures as the output of diff 
diff -u would be better, but it is not posix, so diff -e is chosen as
second best choice.

31af118c41 Move Swig_locator from scanner.c to cscanner.c. Fix file and line error/warning reporting fixes where SWIG macros are used within {} braces (where the preprocessor expands macros), for example macros within %inline {...} and %fragment(...) {...} and nested structs. Basically anything that results ina call to skip_balanced() in the parser/preprocessor.
